Terms of use
Terms for using EstateNook, a guide to UK estate agents, conveyancers, surveyors and removers. It gives no legal, financial or survey advice.
What these terms cover
These terms cover your use of EstateNook (estatenook.co.uk), a free guide to estate agents, conveyancing solicitors, chartered surveyors and removal companies in the United Kingdom. By using the site you accept them.
Not legal, financial or survey advice
The lists help you find and compare firms. They are not legal advice on a purchase, sale or contract, not financial or tax advice, not a valuation and not an opinion on the condition of any property. They are not a recommendation of any lender or mortgage either.
We do not act for you
EstateNook does not market or value homes, carry out conveyancing or surveys, move belongings, book appointments or charge users. It does not promise any firm's fees, timescales, workmanship or the outcome of a sale or purchase. Any agreement is between you and the firm you choose.
How the lists are made
From public information about each firm (what it says about its services, its contact details and opening hours, and what its clients say about it in public) and the criteria explained in “How we select”. A firm on a Top plan is shown in a highlighted position and a firm on a Pro plan has a fuller profile. Both carry a label. A plan is not a check of the firm and not our endorsement of it.
Check before you instruct a firm
We review the lists from time to time, but a phone number, an address or a fee can change. Confirm them with the firm. Check its regulator or scheme as well: the redress scheme for an estate agent, the SRA, the Council for Licensed Conveyancers or the Law Society of Scotland or of Northern Ireland for a conveyancer, and RICS for a chartered surveyor.
Listings and the business area
Anyone who claims a listing confirms that they are entitled to manage it and that what they publish is accurate and not misleading. Each firm is responsible for making sure its own wording follows the rules of its regulator or redress scheme, consumer protection law and the UK advertising codes. We may edit or remove inaccurate or misleading content. The terms of the plans are shown in the business area.
What you must not do
Use the site for anything unlawful, copy its lists with automated tools, try to reach restricted areas, pretend to be another person or firm, or give false details.
Intellectual property
The texts, the selection criteria, the order of each list, the name and the design of EstateNook belong to its owner or are used with permission. You may link to them and quote them with a credit. Copying a substantial part needs our permission.
Liability and law
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit. Beyond that, EstateNook is not responsible for what the listed firms say or do, or for the content of other websites. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live. We may change these terms, and the version on this page is the one that applies.
